Three Marion Women Arrested on Methamphetamine Charges in Miami County (Correction)

Converse – This morning at approximately 12:05 a.m., a traffic stop by Indiana State Trooper Jonathan Cole led to the arrests of Marissa Clark, 22, Michele Davis, 45, Birdena Davis, 24, all from Marion, IN. They were incarcerated in the Miami County Jail to face criminal charges for possession of methamphetamine and dealing methamphetamine. Davis faces an additional charge for maintaining a common nuisance.

Trooper Cole initiated a traffic stop on a 2002 Dodge Avenger on State Road 18, near Xenia Road, for allegedly driving across the center line. While Trooper Cole was speaking to the driver, Michele Davis, he noticed indicators that criminal activity might be afoot. Miami County Sheriff’s Deputy Joe Gentile and his narcotics detecting police dog, Aik, arrived to assist. Deputy Gentile utilized Aik to conduct a free air sniff around the Dodge. Aik indicated the presence of illegal narcotics inside the vehicle.  During a subsequent search of the Avenger, officers allegedly found approximately 120 grams of methamphetamine and $1,000 in United States currency.

The methamphetamine has an approximate street value of $12,000.

Trooper Cole was assisted by Trooper Jeremy Perez, Trooper Mario Cruz, Miami County Sheriff’s Deputy Stephanie Coppler, and Converse Marshal Aaron Dague.

All criminal defendants are to be presumed innocent until, and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law
