Full Notification

The Department received unconfirmed report of a possible mountain lion sighting to the east side of Target in the bushes.  Although notification was provided today, it was noted that the sightings had occurred over the last two weeks. An immediate area search was conducted by the officers who were unable to locate an animal in the area.  Even though, this is an unconfirmed sighting we want to alert the residents so they can be aware.  Although not common, some mountain lions have been known to travel deep into urban areas that are located near the foothills.  LVPD has contacted both the Humane Society and the Department of Fish and Wildlife and made them both aware.  We urge anyone that if they see anything to immediately notify the police department by calling 911.
