17-year-old male arrested for attempted murder after stabbing his girlfriend multiple times.
On May 3, 2016 at approximately 9:06 PM, Covina Police Officers responded to a call of a female bleeding from the neck area in the parking lot of an apartment complex located in the 700 block of E. Workman Street in the City of Covina. Upon arrival, Officers located a 24 year old female who was suffering from numerous stab wounds in her upper torso, neck, and face. The victim was treated at the scene by the Los Angeles County Fire Department and airlifted to a trauma center where she underwent emergency surgery. The victim is currently listed in serious condition.
While the officers were conducting their investigation, information was developed that the person responsible for the stabbing was possibly still in the area. While conducting an area check, officers contacted a 17-year-old male subject in a condominium complex in the 600 block of E. Workman Street. When contacting the juvenile, they noticed he was bleeding from some cuts to his hands and he also made some statements regarding the stabbing, at which time he was taken into custody for Attempted Murder (664/187 PC). The juvenile was transported to a local hospital for treatment of his injuries and then transported to Los Padrinos Juvenile Hall for housing.
The juvenile and the victim are both residents of Covina; however, their names will not be released at this time. The juvenile is being held without bail pending his arraignment at Pomona Juvenile Court on May 5, 2016.
