Today, a peculiar note was posted on a wall at Blissfield High School with the date "May 5" printed on it. There were no other markings. A large number of students began speculating that there was going to be a school shooting on Thursday, May 5th. Officers from the Blissfield Police Department, Lenawee County Sheriffs Department, and the Michigan State Police, and with the assistance of the Blissfield School District, have conducted numerous interviews this evening and have determined that the information was a rumor only and that there is no merit for a credible threat. Out of an abundance of caution the Blissfield Police Department will provide a significant uniform presence throughout the rest of the week to help alleviate any concerns from students and parents.
