SUBJECT OF RELEASE: Damage to Cemetery Headstones
DATE AND TIME: Sunday, April 24, 2016 at approximately 1625 hours
LOCATION: Eureka Township Cemetery located on West Jordan
Road in Eureka Township near Greenville, MI 48838
AUTHORITY/CONTACT PERSON: Undersheriff Michael J. Williams
On April 24, 2016, the Montcalm County Sheriffs Office responded to the Eureka Township Cemetery located on West Jordan Road just south of Greenville in regards to several headstones that were believed to have been damaged. Upon arrival, deputies found at least four headstones that did in fact appear to be damaged. Two out of the four headstones also appeared to be out of place. At this time little is known as to when the damage occurred or who may be responsible. Anyone with information please contact the Montcalm County Sheriffs Office. The damage remains under investigation at this time
