Join us tonight, May 9 - Race And Reconciliation: A Discussion with Dr. John M. Perkins
Mark your calendars now! Officers and community members from across North Texas are invited to attend a panel discussion with Dr. John M. Perkins tonight, May 9, 2016 at Cornerstone Baptist Church (5415 Matlock Road) in Arlington, TX. Dr. Perkins is a world renowned author, speaker and leader of issues on racial reconciliation, community empowerment, and civil rights. Learn about the transforming power of positive police community relations through reconciliation and understanding.
With this unique opportunity, attendees will be able to hear about the life of Dr. Perkins and the story of how his brother died in his arms, shot by a deputy marshal. Through his book Let Justice Roll Down, Dr. Perkins tells his story of returning good for evil, love for hate, and progress for prejudice. The discussion will begin at 6:30 pm and will conclude at 8:30 pm; all community members and officers from the North Texas area are encouraged to attend. Communities, faith based organizations, and police departments will benefit from hearing this message as all individuals have a role in acknowledging and protecting civil rights within our communities.
