Bremen Post to Conduct Sobriety Checkpoint
Elkhart County – The Indiana State Police will conduct a sobriety checkpoint in Elkhart County during the evening hours of Friday, May 13, 2016. This checkpoint is being run in conjunction with the national and statewide 2016 Click It or Ticket enforcement mobilization occurring May 6-30, 2016.
Officers will join more than 250 state and local law enforcement agencies, and thousands more across the country, to conduct high-visibility patrols encouraging drivers and passengers to buckle up.
Motorists are asked to have their driver’s license and vehicle registration available when entering a checkpoint. This will help minimize the amount of time spent at the checkpoint. Motorists can expect short delays of only two to three minutes.
The Indiana State Police are committed to traffic safety and will continue to conduct saturation patrols and sobriety checkpoints to apprehend impaired drivers and to deter others from drinking and driving.
The public is encouraged to call 911 or the closest Indiana State Police Post when they observe another motorist that may be impaired. Be prepared to give a description of the vehicle, location and direction of travel.
