A joint child molesting investigation by the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office and the Indiana State Police resulted in the apprehension of a Waterloo man. On 05/11/2016 just before 3:00 pm, 45 year old Matthew Thomas Foote was booked into the Steuben County Jail on one count of level 4 felony child molesting. The arrest comes after a nearly 5 week investigation by Sheriff’s and State Police detectives regarding information that Foote allegedly had sexual contact with a child under fourteen (14) years of age during the summer of 2015. The incident reportedly occurred at a residence in the 300 block of south CR 620 W in rural Steuben County. Foote was taken into custody following an interview with detectives and lodged in the Steuben County Jail. Foote remains held in lieu of a $10,000.00 bond. The LaGrange County Sheriff’s Office and the Indiana Department of Child Services also assisted in the investigation.
