Ohio Woman Injured in Motorcycle Crash
Seymour-Yesterday, shortly after 6:00 p.m., the Indiana State Police responded to a single vehicle motorcycle crash on I-65 northbound near the 55 mile marker that sent an Ohio woman to a Seymour hospital.
The initial investigation by Trooper Tia Deaton indicated Linda Ramey, age 65, Mansfield, Ohio was operating a 2013 Kawasaki motorcycle northbound on I-65 when she attempted to exit the interstate onto State Route 11 at exit 55. Ramey lost control of her motorcycle on the exit ramp and hit loose gravel, causing the motorcycle to skid off the roadway and down an embankment. Ramey was ejected from the motorcycle and sustained abrasions and possibly a broken arm.
Ramey was transported to Schneck Medical Center for treatment of her injuries. Ramey was believed to be wearing a helmet and protective clothing during the crash which is believed to be responsible for preventing more serious injuries. The I-65 northbound exit ramp to State Route 11 was shut down for a short time for crash cleanup.
The investigation is ongoing.
Trooper Deaton was assisted by Jackson County EMS and Howard’s Wrecker Service.
