Corona Police Seek Attempted Murder Suspect

On May 6, 2016, at approximately 11:30 p.m. the Corona Police Department investigated an attempted murder of a homeless male behind the Corona Chamber of Commerce located at 904 E. Sixth St. Corona. As a result of the investigation, members of the Riverside County Regional Gang Task Force- Region 8 arrested a 17-year-old Corona juvenile, Jordon Negrete, for his involvement in the incident. During the investigation, Corona Police detectives identified a second suspect, a 17-year-old Corona juvenile by the name of Matthew Jacob Miranda. Detectives petitioned the court and obtained an arrest warrant for Matthew Miranda issued by Riverside County Superior Court for attempted murder. Matthew Jacob Miranda is a Hispanic male, 5’-7”, 140 lbs., with black hair and brown eyes.

Miranda is aware that he is wanted and may be accompanied by his biological father, Juan Ricardo Jaramillo, 39-year-old of Corona, who has an outstanding felony warrant for an unrelated case. Both Matthew Miranda and his father Juan Jaramillo are considered to be armed and dangerous, do not approach, please call the Corona Police Department, local law enforcement, or 9-1-1 immediately.
