Morning Crash Sends One To Hospital
Madison County – A crash on I-69 this morning, just before 7:30 a.m., sent an Indianapolis woman to Anderson St. Vincent Hospital with a shoulder injury. Stacey Morris, age 47 of Indianapolis, was south bound on I-69 at the 226 mile marker when the left rear tire blew out on her 2006 Chevrolet pickup.
The vehicle turned sideways in the right lane before striking the guard rail off the right side of the road. The impact with the guard rail knocked the truck back onto the roadway, where it rolled onto its left side in the left lane.
Morris was transported from the scene with a shoulder injury by the Anderson Fire Department. Trooper Dave Preston investigated the crash, and was assisted by Pendleton District Troopers, Madison County Sheriff’s Department, Anderson Police Department and Anderson Fire Department.
With the Operation Pull Over “Click it or Ticket” campaign in full swing, this crash serves as a reminder of the importance of buckling up. Trooper Preston agrees that seatbelt usage by Morris was effective in reducing her injuries in this crash. Make sure to buckle up everyone in your vehicle before leaving.
