On May 26, 2016 at 0218 hours, the Burlington Police Department responded to Main St at S Willard St for a report of a male subject walking down the street trying car door handles. Upon arrival the male was walking south on S Willard St. When he saw Officers, he discarded several items on the ground. The suspect, Colin Howard, admitted to Officers that he took those items from parked vehicles on Main St but he could not recall which vehicles the items came from. Colin Howard was arrested and later cited for Petit Larceny.
Police are asking that anyone from that area that may be missing any items from their vehicles, please contact the police at 802-540-2351. A photograph has been attached to this report.
The penalty for petit larceny shall be punished by a fine of not more than $1,000.00 or imprisonment for not more than one year, or both.
