Community Helps Officers Locate Felon at McDonalds
On Thursday May 26, 2016 at about 2:30 PM Anderson Police was dispatched to the parking lot of McDonalds on McMurray Dr. Citizens reported seeing a male subject threatening a female with a knife and possibly assaulting her. On arrival the officers located the female in the corner of the parking, but were unable to locate the male. The female denied any assault taking place. She identified her male companion as 21 year old Martin Thietje of Redding and Anderson areas. A records check on Thietje showed him being on felony probation, state parole and having an active felony warrant out for his arrest.
By this time several members of the community and McDonalds customers told the officers that they saw the Thietje go into the men’s restroom of McDonalds. The Anderson Officers checked the men’s room, located Thietje and placed him under arrest without incident.
Thietje and the female were both questioned and denied any physical altercation took place.
There is no indication that the subjects had anything to do with McDonalds other than hiding from officers in there.
Thietje was booked into Shasta County Jail on his warrant.
Once again the citizens of the Anderson community proved to be invaluable by working with the police in an effort to make our city safer and to take criminals off the street.
