News Release: Tip Leads To Arrest Of Two Drug Traffickers
Sheriff Richard K. Jones reports that the BURN (Butler County Undercover Regional Narcotics) Taskforce received information that a subject was traveling on a Greyhound bus from Atlanta to Cincinnati with a large amount of heroin. BURN Agents responded and performed surveillance at the Greyhound bus station in Cincinnati overnight.
Agents observed Julia Still, 29 year old female, meet another subject at the bus station. The couple then traveled back to Butler County. A traffic stop was conducted by Butler County Sheriff’s Deputies on Pleasant Avenue in the City of Hamilton. A Deputy K9 alerted and 2 ounces of heroin were located on Still. Quentrell Heard, 41 year old male, admitted to agents that he planned on processing the heroin to make 10 ounces prior to distribution. Once processed, the heroin would have a street value of $28,000. “This investigation definitely paid off, and fast. It is always a good day when we can get that much off the street at once,” said Lt. Todd Langmeyer. “BURN Agents and Road Patrol Deputies did a fantastic job.”
Both subjects were charged with Trafficking in drugs and Possession of drugs. Both charges are 2nd degree felonies. “Keep those tips coming in,” said Sheriff Jones. “We will continue to make arrests and hamper drug traffickers in this county.”
Charges have potential to be upgraded pending lab results.
