An update to this message has been issued.

The Boxborough Memorial Day Parade will begin at the corner of Hill Road and Wetherbee Lane on Monday, May 30th.

The Memorial Day Parade will begin at the corner of Hill Road and Wetherbee Lane on Monday, May 30th. Participants will march, pausing for reflections at North Cemetery, Town Hall, and South Cemetery.

Marchers are asked to meet by 8 a.m. Please drop marchers off at the corners of Hill and Middle roads or Hill and Picnic roads. For the safety of all, parking is not allowed near the parade start (Police will direct traffic). The parade will step off from Wetherbee Lane at 8:30 a.m.

Boxborough will once again have the annual Memorial Day Parade to honor fallen soldiers. This event is one of the town's most treasured as it appropriately reflects the sentiment and importance of the holiday in a traditional New England way. All town veterans are invited to join the parade as Grand Marshals by either marching or riding in a car available for veterans. The Boxborough Minutemen will conduct a musket salute at both cemeteries as Boxborough Veteran Donald Morse reads the names of fallen soldiers. The Minutemen also lay flowers at the World War I, World War II, and town memorials at Town Hall. Speakers will include State Senator Jamie Eldridge, Representative Jen Benson, and a local spiritual leader. The Blanchard Elementary Band and the R.J. Grey Junior High Band will provide patriotic music throughout the parade and selected members will play Echo/Taps at each observance point. Local boy scouts and girl scouts will also march.

Parking for the parade is available across from Town Hall on Middle Road and near South Cemetery on Burroughs and Stow Roads for those wishing to join the ceremony. Everyone is also invited to march in the parade. For more information on how to get involved, either by marching or watching the parade, please contact Boxborough Public Celebrations and Ceremonies Committee at [email protected].
