Barstow - Two suspects arrested for Possession off Stolen Property following a traffic stop

INCIDENT: POSSESSION OF STOLEN PROPERTY
LOCATION: I-15 FWY AND OLD STATE 58 HWY
SUSPECT(S): Richard Cagle, 55 year old resident of Bakersfield
Heather Stewart, 35 year old resident of Bakersfield
SUMMARY: On Friday, May 27, 2016, at about 8:00pm, Deputy J. Mamon conducted a traffic stop on a light blue Lincoln with no rear plate. The driver was identified as Richard Cagle of Bakersfield. The female passenger, originally provided false information about her name, she was eventually identified as Heather Stewart of Bakersfield. A records check indicated Cagle was driving on a suspended driver's license and had an active warrant for his arrest from Kern County. A records check on Stewart showed a warrant for a Violation of Parole and she was identified as a parolee at large. Both Cagle and Stewart were detained for their warrants. During a search of the vehicle, Deputy Mamon discovered several stolen wallets, ID cards, drivers' licenses and checkbooks from multiple victims. Cagle and Stewart were arrested and booked at the High Desert Detention Center for Possession of Stolen Property and warrants.
