05/22/16 WTPD arrested Benjamin Knowlton, age 27, of Oxford, NJ for an outstanding $300.00 warrant out of Oxford Township. On 05/22/16 at approximately 4:14 PM, a found wallet was turned in to police headquarters. The officer’s investigation revealed that the wallet belonged to, Mr. Knowlton, who had an outstanding warrant. Mr. Knowlton was contacted and responded to pick up his wallet. Upon Mr. Knowlton’s arrival at headquarters, he was advised of the warrant, processed, and released with his wallet and a new court date.
05/23/16 WTPD arrested Kenneth Spatta, age 26, of Bloomsbury, NJ for an $81.00 warrant out of Highland Park. He was processed and released after posting bail.
05/26/16 WTPD arrested Tyler Reid, age 24, and Charles Pickett, age 25, both of Washington, NJ. On 05/26/16 at approximately 9:36 AM, patrol responded to a reported theft in the 20 block of W. Stewart St. in Washington Borough. Upon the officer’s arrival and subsequent investigation, it was revealed that Mr. Pickett was responsible for a theft of over $200.00 in cash form the victim’s purse. Mr. Pickett was processed and released with a mandatory court date. Mr. Reid was found to have a $1000.00 warrant out of Chester Borough and an NCIC warrant out of the Warren County Sheriff’s Department. He was processed and turned over to the Warren County Sheriff’s Department.
05/27/16 WTPD arrested Colby Wydner, age 28, of Phillipsburg, NJ, for possession of prescription legend drugs (CDS) and possession of drug paraphernalia. On 05/26/16 at approximately 1:16 PM, patrol responded to the NJ Department of Child Protection & Permanency (DCPP) office on 415 Rte. 57 E. in Washington Township for a subject possessing drugs. Upon the officer’s, arrival he made contact with Mr. Wydner, who was found to be in possession of (CDS) prescription drugs and drug paraphernalia. He was taken into custody without incident, processed and released with a mandatory court date.
05/27/16 WTPD arrested Amanda Duncan, age 24, of North Plainfield, NJ, for shoplifting and theft. On 05/27/16 at approximately 3:07 PM, patrol was dispatched to the Your Kitchen, 459 Rte. 31 S. in Washington Township for a reported shoplifting. Upon the officer’s arrival, an investigation was conducted that revealed that Ms. Duncan had stolen $5.94 worth of beverages from Your Kitchen. Ms. Duncan was processed and released with a mandatory court date.
05/28/16 WTPD arrested David Simmons Jr., age 33, of Washington, NJ for a $500.00 outstanding warrant out of Newark. On 05/28/16 at approximately 1:38 AM, patrol was dispatched to a 911 call in the 200 block of Belvidere Ave in Washington Borough. Upon the officer’s arrival and subsequent investigation, it was determined that the 911 call was made in error. It was however, discovered that one person on location, Mr. Simmons had an outstanding warrant. He was taking into custody without incident, processed and released with new court date.
05/28/16 WTPD arrested Ivy Steele, age 26, of Washington, NJ for $1584.00 in outstanding warrants out of Phillipsburg, Greenwich Township and Washington Township (Morris County). On 05/28/16 at approximately 6:06 AM, patrol was dispatched to the Speedway Gas Station, 323 Rte. 31 S. in Washington Township for an activated alarm. Upon the officer’s arrival and subsequent investigation, it was determined that the alarm was set off in error by an employee, Ms. Steele, who had outstanding warrants. She was taken into custody without incident, processed and turned over to Phillipsburg PD.
05/28/16 WTPD arrested Steven Polgar, age 50, of Washington, NJ, for endangering the welfare of a child, disorderly conduct and outstanding warrants totaling $544.00 out of Roxbury Township and Hackettstown. On 05/28/16 at approximately 9:36 AM, patrol responded to the Rite-Aid, 354 Rte. 57 W. in Washington Township, for a reported abandoned child. Upon the officer’s arrival and subsequent investigation, it was determined that Mr. Polgar, who was legally responsible for the child’s care, had left the 7 year old child he had taken fishing alone at the Shabbacong creek and returned home. The NJ Department of Child Protection & Permanency (DCPP) responded to take custody of the child who was returned to a parent. Mr. Polgar was charged with endangering the welfare of a child and disorderly conduct. He was processed and lodged in the WC Jail in lieu of $3000.00 bail.
