Pedestrian Killed in Fatal Motor Vehcile Accident in Raritan Township
Hunterdon County Prosecutor Anthony P. Kearns, III, and Raritan Township Police Chief Glen Tabasko announced that Theodore M. Deptulski, age 73, of Flemington NJ, was crossing Rt. 202 in Raritan Township when he was fatally struck by a vehicle driven by Howard J. Huber Jr., age 58, of Iselin, NJ.
At approximately 5:00 am on May 31, 2016, Mr. Huber was traveling southbound on Route 202 when his vehicle struck Mr. Deptulski as he was crossing the highway. The accident took place near the intersection of Route 202, Church Street and Voorhees Corner Road. Emergency services and the Hunterdon County Medical Examiner’s Office responded to the scene.
The accident is being investigated by the Raritan Township Police Department and the Hunterdon County Prosecutor’s Office. No charges have been filed and the accident remains under investigation. Mr. Deptulski was employed by the Hunterdon Central Regional School District as a substitute teacher.
