Butler County Sheriff Richard K. Jones takes extra precautions when it comes to registered sex offenders in his county. Yesterday morning, the Sheriff had several teams of deputies assigned to conduct verifications on registered sex offenders in Butler County.
There are more than 500 registered sex offenders in Butler County. There are approximately 14 teams that conducted the verifications throughout the day starting around 9 AM. “This operation is necessary to keep the people in this community safe by keeping track of where these sex offenders are. If they are not following the orders of the court, they go to jail, it’s that simple,” said Sheriff Jones.
Prior to the address verification checks, the Sheriff conducts uniform and vehicle inspections. “I do the inspections to make sure my employees have all the correct up-to-date equipment and proper uniform attire,” said the Sheriff.
