San Dimas Station Volunteer Opportunity

Are you retired? Or looking for an interesting challenge?

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department San Dimas Station is currently accepting applications for our “Volunteer on Patrol” (VOP) program.  VOP’s are residents of the communities they patrol and provide an invaluable resource for San Dimas Sheriff’s Station.  V.O.P.’s are an extra set of eyes and ears for the Sheriff’s Department, much like a mobile “Neighborhood Watch” program.  In addition, V.O.P.’s preform other non-hazardous duties including:

·         Traffic Control

·         Assisting in searches for missing children

·         Conducting Residential Vacation Checks

·         Acting as a Department and Station representative at local community events

·         And much more

To become a Volunteer on Patrol, you must meet the following requirements:

·         You must be at least 18 years of age

·         You must possess a valid California Driver’s License

·         Pass a background Check

·         Complete a non-physical Civilian Academy

·         Have health insurance

If interested in making new friends, learning new skills, and helping out in our San Dimas community, please call the San Dimas Station Crime Prevention office at (909)450-2763.  You’ll be glad you did!
