At approximately 5:25pm today Otter Creek Fire Dept was dispatched to a report of a fire at 5052 N 13th st. Upon arrival personnel found multiple semi trailers and more than 1,000 wood pallets on fire. Crews were able to secure water sources from fire hydrants at Great Dane trailers (across the street from the incident) and a hydrant at 13th and Haythorne. Other fire departments assisted by bringing in water with tankers. Approximately 100,000 gallons of water was poured onto the fire over the course of nearly 4 hours. 13th st was closed for the duration of the incident. Otter Creek Fire was left the scene at 9:15pm.

There was one injury reported as one firefighter suffered a cut to the hand. The firefighter was treated at Union Hospital and released.

The cause of the fire is currently unknown, but is under investigation.

Otter Creek was assisted by Terre Haute Fire Dept, Seelyville, Sugar Creek, New Goshen and Shepardsville Fire Departments.
