The Glendale Police Department will be hosting an Open House on June 4, 2016 at 131 N. Isabel Street, Glendale. The entire block of 100 North Isabel Street will be closed between Wilson Avenue and Broadway for the festivities.

The event is free to the public and scheduled from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The day’s events will include tours of the police station, demonstrations, displays of police, fire and armored vehicles and a free lunch will be provided by the Glendale Police Officers’ Association.

Visitors will have the chance to:
•Meet Chief Robert Castro, Command Staff, Detectives, Police Officers, Cadets, Explorers and Volunteers.
•Meet members of the SWAT Team and try on their gear.
•Meet the K-9’s and their handlers.
•Explore and take photographs with patrol cars, armored and emergency rescue vehicles, and motorcycles.
•Learn about pedestrian, bicycle and traffic safety.
•View the police helicopter and meet the pilots.
•Carotid artery and vein screenings provided by Glendale Adventist at the John Stauffer community mobile van.
•Donate blood at the LifeStream Blood Mobile.
•Meet animals available for adoption through the Pasadena Humane Society.
•View various other city and local business displays and exhibits.

Children can:
•Participate in the Bicycle Safety Rodeo course and get tips from the bike officers. (Participants need to bring their own bike and helmet)
•Receive a balloon, face painting, explore a crime scene, collect evidence and learn about DNA.
•Explore the rock climbing wall.
•Don’t miss this opportunity to get to know your police department and the many men and women behind the badge.
