Comunity Emergency Response Team - CERT
The Signal Hill Police Department, in partnership with Los Angeles County, is proud to present Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) training to the public. The program was developed to provide basic training in safety and life-saving skills for the general public. Following a major disaster, police, fire, and medical professionals may not be able to fully meet service demands. People will have to rely on each other to meet immediate life-saving and life-sustaining needs.
The course curriculum covers the following modules:
- CERT organization
- Course review and disaster simulations
- Disaster psychology
- Emergency medical operations
- Emergency preparedness
- Fire safety
- Light Search & Rescue operations
- Terrorism and CERT
There is NO charge for this training course. We are currently looking for students for our September 2016 class. For further information, please contact SHPD Emergency Operations Coordinator - Richard Johnson at rjohnson@signalhillpd.org or (562) 989-7239.
