ADPS is currently investigation a Home Invasion that occurred in the 500 block of Mechanic St. on Monday, June 6, 2016 at approximately 04:30 AM.  An officer in the area was alerted by a subject that there were armed subjects in the house.  the officer attempted to obtain what was happening and the suspects alerted to the officer's presence fled out the back door.  While attempting to get out the back door it appears one of the 4 suspects fired his weapon.  The suspects fled the area while the officer attempted to check the safety and well being of the residence.  One of the residents was transported to the hospital for injuries to his head.  He was treated and released.  Two other adults in the residence reported being assaulted.  A 4 year old child in the residence was not harmed.  The residents reported they were woken by 4 subjects who had entered the house and demanded money that they claimed to know was there.  It is believed all 4 suspect were armed with handguns. 

The Calhoun County Sheriff's Department and ADPS K-9 units were contacted and attempted to locate the 4 suspects.  At approximately 7:00 AM officer's were alerted to the presence of a black male subject walking in the downtown area with ripped jeans and only one shoe.  ADPS Detectives had recovered a shoe near the scene by a fence where it is believed the suspects fled.  Officers approached the subject who immediately fled on foot.  The subject was apprehended after a short chase about two blocks away.  A handgun was also recovered in the vicinity of where the subject was arrested. 

ADPS has information as to the identity of the 3 suspects who have not been arrested and are attempting to locate them for question.  Anyone with information is asked to contact Silent Observer at 517-629-2700 or Det. Wygant at 517-629-7824.
