Hunterdon County Prosecutor Anthony P. Kearns, III, Chief of Detectives John J. Kuczynski and Flemington Borough Police Chief George Becker announced the arrest of one individual as a result of a joint investigation conducted by the Hunterdon County Prosecutor’s Office and the Flemington Borough Police Department.
According to Prosecutor Kearns, “On June 6, 2016, Santiago Hernandez, age 37, of Flemington, was arrested and charged with Criminal Sexual Contact, a fourth degree crime, one count of Endangering the Welfare of a Child, a second degree crime, and one count of Endangering the Welfare of a Child, a third degree crime.
The investigation revealed that Mr. Hernandez inappropriately touched a juvenile under the age of 16. Mr. Hernandez also
supplied marijuana to two juveniles and allowed them to smoke it in his presence; all of these incidents occurred on the same day in March 2016, but was only just reported to police yesterday.”
Bail for the defendant was set at $50,000 by the Honorable Robert Wilson, J.M.C. Mr.Hernandez is currently lodged in the Somerset County Jail. The filing of a criminal complaint is merely a step in the criminal justice process. The defendant is presumed innocent until the matter is resolved in a court of law.
