L.A. County Sheriff Career Youth Program
The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, in partnership with Los Angeles County Community and Senior Services, will launch the second cohort (with a maximum of 35 participants) for people who are interested in law enforcement careers with local police departments within Los Angeles County.
This paid training prepares underrepresented population groups for entry-level positions that may serve as a stepping-stone to sheriff deputies, dispatchers, law enforcement technicians, security officers, security assistants, custody assistants, and other non-sworn careers with local law enforcement departments.
Youth applicants must reside within LA County. The program will be conducted throughout LA County. Eligible applicants must be 18 to 24-years-old, high school graduates, have a valid California Driver’s License, good driving record (no DUI), willing to submit to a complete background check, and have no felony convictions or certain types of misdemeanors. Applicants will attend the session on Tuesday, June 21st from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm to go over the orientation, screening and interviews for acceptance into the program.
