Franklin County Crash Claims Life of Brookville Man
Metamora-Yesterday, at approximately 4:30 p.m., the Indiana State Police responded to a crash involving two vehicles on US 52 near Landfill Road that ultimately claimed the life of a Brookville man.
The initial investigation by Trooper Matt Holley determined that a 2004 Ford Explorer being driven by Amanda T. Boyd, age 32, Brookville, Indiana was traveling eastbound on US 52, west of Landfill Road. While rounding a curve in the roadway, Boyd’s vehicle crossed the centerline into the path of a westbound 2001 Honda Civic being driven by Roger J. Clontz, age 19, Brookville, Indiana. The vehicles collided head on at that location.
As a result of the collision, Clontz sustained fatal injuries. He was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Franklin County Coroner’s Office. Boyd sustained minor injuries in the collision. It is unclear at this time why Boyd’s vehicle crossed the centerline.
US 52 was closed for approximately three hours for investigation and crash cleanup. The investigation is ongoing.
The Clontz family has been notified.
Trooper Holley was assisted by the Franklin County Sheriff’s Department, Brookville Police Department, Brookville Fire Department, Metamora Fire Department, Franklin County EMS, and the Franklin County Coroner’s Office.
