Advisory
LAPD has NOT been involved in any Law Enforcement Related Death today. LASD has a homicide invest in Monterey Park
Per Lt. Eddy Hernandez, LASD Homicide Bureau:
Monterey Park Police responded to a call of a possible shots fired in a parking lot. Upon arrival they located a vehicle with a single occupant inside the locked vehicle. Monterey Park Police requested paramedics for the individual inside the vehicle who was later pronounced dead. Information regarding this incident was provided by the Los Angeles Sheriff's Department Homicide investigators who are conducting a homicide investigation regarding the person found inside of the vehicle.
This was not a Law Enforcement related death as reported via social media sites. Anyone with additional information about this incident is encouraged to contact the LASD Homicide Bureau at 213-229-1700.
There is a great deal of misinformation being disseminated on Twitter stating that LAPD was involved in a fatality today. That information is inaccurate. We believe that the inaccurate Tweets may be related to the Monterey Park incident which is being investigated by the Los Angeles Sheriff's Department., and again, that is a homicide investigation NOT a law enforcement related death.
We would ask that you clarify these facts with your followers and audience.
