Two arrested in Sebastopol City Plaza for violations of probation and drug related charges
On Thursday, 6-9-16, in response to complaints from members of the community regarding an increase in criminal activity, apparently related to transients, on the Sebastopol City Plaza, a Sebastopol Police Officer conducted a patrol of that area.
Four subjects, all of whom indicated that they were transient from the Santa Rosa area, were contacted. They had a large amount of personal property strewn about the plaza which the Officer suspected may grow into an illegal encampment if left unchecked. At one point, the subjects left the property unattended, in violation of Sebastopol City Ordinance.
Two of the subjects, identified as Michelle Kathryn Marion Behrens, age 37, and Scott Book, age 57, were on probation in Sonoma County.
Behrens was on probation for a previous conviction for possession of drug paraphernalia. Book was on probation in four cases, from previous convictions for possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of false government ID, trespassing, and theft.
A search of their property revealed that Book was in possession of methamphetamine. Behrens was in possession of a meth pipe.
Both were arrested for the violations and for violations of their probations. They were booked at the Sonoma County Jail. The other two subjects were released at the scene.
