First, we are saddened by the senseless tragedy in Orlando. Our hearts and prayers go out to all who have been touched by this tragedy.

The Los Angeles Police Department is closely monitoring the incident and all of the investigative findings as they develop. We are in direct contact with our law enforcement partners to discuss any information that could have potential impact here locally. At this time that is ongoing.  That said, in an abundance of caution, LAPD will direct resources to pay extra attention to areas within out City where people gather. That will include shopping areas, transportation hubs, parks, theaters and so on. As we learn more about this horrific incident we will provide additional information to keep our community safe and reassured.

We would also remind everyone that it is up to All of us to keep our communities safe. If you See Something that doesn't look right, Say Something. Report suspicious behavior.  If you find yourself in a situation that is dangerous remember to Run, Hide or Fight as a last resort.  We will provide more as it is available.
