THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN KANSAS CITY/PLEASANT HILL HAS ISSUED AN EXCESSIVE HEAT WARNING WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 11 AM THURSDAY TO 8 PM CDT FRIDAY. THE EXCESSIVE HEAT WATCH IS NO LONGER IN EFFECT.

HIGHS IN THE MIDDLE TO UPPER 90S THURSDAY AND FRIDAY WITH HEAT INDEX VALUES BETWEEN 105 AND 110 DEGREES.
* IMPACTS
EXTREME HEAT COULD QUICKLY LEAD TO HEAT ILLNESS OR HEAT STROKE IF PROPER PRECAUTIONS ARE NOT TAKEN.
AN EXCESSIVE HEAT WARNING MEANS THAT A PROLONGED PERIOD OF DANGEROUSLY HOT TEMPERATURES WILL OCCUR. THE COMBINATION OF HOT TEMPERATURES AND HIGH HUMIDITY WILL COMBINE TO CREATE A DANGEROUS SITUATION IN WHICH HEAT ILLNESSES ARE LIKELY. DRINK PLENTY OF FLUIDS
