New Castle Search Warrants Lead to Felony Charges
New Castle – Two search warrants were served on a residence and garage this morning at 1311 So. 19th St. in New Castle, as part of an ongoing investigation into the manufacture of Methamphetamine by the Pendleton District Meth Suppression Team. As a result of those warrants a New Castle man was arrested for Possession of Heroin, and a Meth Lab was discovered and dismantled.
At approximately 9:30 a.m. this morning, the Meth Suppression Team served a search warrant on the garage behind the residence at 1311 So. 19th. St. After discovering a Meth Lab in the garage, a search warrant was then obtained for the residence at 1311, where heroin and syringes were found.
Arrested was Joseph Ellis, age 45 of that residence, charged with Possession of Heroin, Level 6 Felony, Maintaining a Common Nuisance, Level 6 Felony and Possession of a Syringe, Level 6 Felony. He was lodged in the Henry County Jail. The Meth lab investigation is ongoing, with further charges and arrests forthcoming.
The Pendleton District Meth Suppression Team was assisted in their investigation by Henry County Prosecutor Joe Bergacs, Henry County Sheriff’s Department, Henry County Drug Task Force, New Castle Police Department, Shirley Police Department and Henry County Division of Child Services.
