Incident: PC 459 Burglary/ PC 496 Receiving Stolen Property/ PC 32310 Possession of Large Capacity Ammunition Magazines
Location: 100 block of North Yucca Street, Barstow
Suspects: 1. Michael Joyner, WMA, 35 years old and a transient of Barstow; 2. Dakota Barber, WMA, 25 years old and a transient of Barstow; 3. Challie Terrill-Cassatt, WFA, 22 years old and a transient of Barstow; 4. Jasmine Joyner, WFA, 35 years old and a transient of Barstow

Summary: On June 18, 2016, Michael Joyner went to Calico Ghost Town where he broke into one of the businesses at the location. Joyner stole money from the business and was identified by the victim through several different means.

On June 19, 2016, Deputies Halterman and Bubier went to the Motel 6 on Yucca Street in the City of Barstow to contact Joyner for the theft. When deputies arrived Joyner was detained so they could continue their investigation. Christopher Young saw the deputies and took off running. A short foot pursuit ensued and ended behind the Dollar Tree Store. Young was caught and arrested an outstanding felony warrant. Next to where Joyner was detained by his vehicle, was a large bag containing military gear including a Kevlar flak vest and helmet.

After detaining Michael Joyner, deputies went to the motel room he rented for the night and located three suspects, identified as Dakota Barber, Challie Terrill-Cassatt and Jasmine Joyner. They were in possession of illegal drugs, more stolen US Army gear and four large capacity ammunition magazines. All of the suspects were arrested and booked at the Barstow jail for their respective charges.
