Risk of severe weather for Wed. Strong Winds, gusts 65 mph +, heavy rain, potential for a few tornadoes. R.U. ready?
National Weather Service Storm Prediction Center is forecasting a moderate risk of severe thunderstorms across Northern Indiana with the greatest risk for our area Wednesday night/early Thursday morning. (7pm - 2am). Thunderstorms are possible earlier in the afternoon Wednesday, but severe weather is not expected at this time.
The greatest threat from these storms will be:
DAMAGING Winds( with gusts that could be greater than 65mph).
There is the potential for a few TORNADOES mainly south of U.S. 30 in the 7pm -11pm time frame on Wednesday evening.
RAINFALL amounts of .75 to 2 inches expected with localized amounts in excess of 3 inches that will lead to localized flooding.
Isolated large HAIL is also possible.
BEFORE THE STORM:
Bring in or secure loose objects that may blow around and could cause damage.
Check the batteries in flashlights and lanterns to make sure they are working.

Stay Alert for severe weather by listening for watches and warning initiated by the National Weather Service over the NOAA All Hazard Alert Radio or by the local news stations.
