6/21/16, press release - Burglary, Possession of Stolen Property, Violations of Conditions of Release

On June 21, 2016 the Burlington Police were called to Hyde Street for a reported robbery that just occurred and the suspects were fleeing from the area on foot. When officers arrived on scene they spoke with the victim who explained his residence on Front Street had been burglarized approximately 20 minutes prior.

He did not initially call police but attempted to locate the suspect(s) on his own. He was successful in locating a group of three people riding long boards on Hyde Street which he was able to readily identify as his. When the victim confronted them, two of the suspects fled the area on foot and the third was still in the area when police arrived.

During the investigation police learned over $9,300 worth of property was stolen from the victim’s residence. During the investigation police were able to recover approximately $6,700 of the property from several different locations in Burlington.

Two adults were arrested as a result of the investigation, Sharmarke Adan (19) and Sara Lamphere (18). Adan was charged with Burglary, Possession of Stolen Property, and Violation of Conditions of Release. Lamphere was charged with Burglary and Possession of Stolen Property. At the request of the Chittenden County State Attorney’s office the two juvenile females (17) were cited for Burglary and Possession of Stolen Property.
