Today, between 3:00pm and, 4:00pm, the funeral procession for former Mayor Eddie Dees will pass through Hope Mills. The procession will leave Southview Baptist Church on Elk Road, travel down the Hope Mills Bypass to Camden Road, turn left onto Camden Road and travel Camden Road until reaching North Main Street. Upon reaching North Main Street, the procession will turn left onto North Main Street and travel south until reaching Golfview Drive where it will turn right and continue on Golfview Drive until reaching Rockfish Road. Upon reaching Rockfish Road, the procession will pass in front of the Hope Mills Municipal Complex and will continue traveling on Rockfish Road until reaching North Main Street where it will turn right onto North Main Street. The procession will then travel south on South Main Street until reaching the Gilmont Cemetary.

This procession is expected to be large and, have a significant impact on traffic. Motorists should expect delays if traveling along the above routes or, find an alternate path of travel.
