On Thursday, June 23, 2016 at 7:07 a.m. the Pleasanton Police Department responded to a collision in the intersection of Valley Ave., and Stanley Blvd. Upon arrival, officers discovered a female adult bicyclist had succumbed to her injuries sustained during the collision.
The bicyclist was traveling southbound on Valley Ave. towards Bernal Ave., in the intersection of Stanley Blvd. when she was struck by a motorist traveling eastbound on Stanley Blvd. The driver is cooperating with the investigation, which is ongoing.
The intersection of Valley Ave and Stanley Blvd will remain closed for several hours. Those traveling in the area should plan to take alternate routes and drive with caution.
