Traffic Stop for Speeding Turns Up Stolen Vehicle
Delaware County – This morning around 12:46 a.m., Trooper Brad Tucker was sitting in the median on I-69, in the area of the 241 mile marker, when he saw an approaching south bound Toyota car traveling at a high rate of speed.
After clocking the car at 94 M.P.H. in the 70 M.P.H. zone as it drove past his stationary, fully marked police car, Tucker gave chase and got the car stopped at the 240 mile marker. After making contact with the driver, Joan Wolfe, age 30 of Indianapolis, Tucker found she had no license in her possession, just an I.D. card.
Further investigation showed that Wolfe was not only driving while her license was suspended, she was also driving a 2010 Toyota Camry that had been reported stolen from Indianapolis in May of this year.
Wolfe, who was taken into custody without incident, was lodged in the Delaware County Jail for Auto Theft, Level 6 Felony. In addition she was issued tickets for 94 in a 70 zone and for Driving While License Suspended.
