BENTON, MISSOURI - Scott County Sheriff Rick Walter reports a Morley woman arrested on Drug Charges.

Cheryl Gardiner (23) has been charged with the Class C Felony of Possession of a Controlled Substance and Class A Misdemeanor of Unlawful Use of Drug Paraphernalia.

Sheriff Walter states that on Thursday, June 23, 2016 a deputy conducted a vehicle stop on US Highway 61 near Sikeston. Gardiner was operating the motor vehicle. Gardiner’s driving privileges were ran and it was discovered that she had an active Scott County warrant for Probation Violation – Drugs. Gardiner was arrested for the warrant at this time.

Scott County’s Canine was deployed and did an exterior sniff of the vehicle. The canine alerted to the driver and passenger front doors. A search was conducted of the vehicle and located in a diaper bag was another bag containing drug paraphernalia used to ingest methamphetamine. Inside Gardiner’s purse was a bag containing more drug paraphernalia and a small corner bag with white crystal like substances.

All of items were seized and tested positive for methamphetamine.

Gardiner was transported to the Scott County Jail pending charges. Bond was set by the court at $5,000 cash only.
