Butler County Sheriff Richard K. Jones reports that yesterday around 7:30 PM, Butler County S.T.A.R.T. (Serious Traffic Accident Reconstruction Team) along with Reily and Morgan Township emergency crews, responded to Hamilton-Scipio Road near Chapel Road in Reily Township for a single vehicle crash.
The preliminary investigation indicates that speed could be a factor. A 2010 Chevrolet Camaro driven by 18 year old Travis Owens from Hamilton was traveling on Hamilton-Scipio Road, when he lost control and went off the road. The vehicle flipped several times and came to rest in a field. One passenger is a female juvenile that was transported by life squad to Fort Hamilton Hospital with serious injuries. The other passenger, Daniel Accorinti, 18 year old male from Hamilton was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver was flown to University of Cincinnati Hospital with serious injuries.
The investigation will continue with S.T.A.R.T. and the Butler County Coroner’s Office.
