One Fatality in Randolph County Two Vehicle Crash
Farmland – A Lynn woman was killed this evening when her east bound car was hit head on by a west bound vehicle that drove left of center. The Randolph County Sheriff’s Department first received a call around 5:25 p.m. of a two vehicle crash on SR 32 just west of CR 1000 W.
When troopers arrived a medical helicopter was on the ground transporting a passenger of one of the vehicles. The preliminary investigation by Trooper John Clawson is that a west bound 2010 PT Cruiser, driven by Dustin Trausch, age 20 of Ridgeville, for an unknown reason, drove left of center on SR 32 just west of CR 1000W.
After driving left of center, the PT Cruiser hit an east bound Chevrolet Lumina head on killing the driver, Faye Runner, age 75 of Lynn. A front seat passenger in the Lumina, Emily Saylor, age 41 of Richmond, was taken from the scene by medical helicopter to Indianapolis with serious injuries.
A back seat passenger in the Lumina, Jacob Saylor, age 18 of Richmond, was transported by ambulance to I.U. Health’s Ball Memorial Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Trausch, the driver of the PT Cruiser, was also transported to Ball with non-life threatening injuries. The crash remains under investigation with future charges possible.
Trooper Clawson was assisted at the scene by ISP Sergeant Jeff Zeiger, and Troopers Kyle West and Sam Cook; the Randolph County Sheriff’s Department; Farmland and Parker City Police Departments; Farmland Fire and Rescue, Randolph County EMS and the Randolph County Coroner.
