While on patrol on Riverside Avenue, Burlington Police witnessed a male setting off fireworks at the Salmon Hole pull-off. The male was identified as Joseph L. Leclair. He had in his possession bottle rockets and two other types of exploding fireworks. Leclair was cited to appear in Chittenden Regional Court for this misdemeanor charge. Burlington Police receive reports of fireworks on an ongoing basis, and consider it to be a serious safety and quality of life issue with the city. Police urge the public to be safe around these and any dangerous devices, especially with the upcoming 4th of July holiday and the ongoing warm summer weather.
