ATTENTION LEE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL PARENTS: PICK-UP YOUR CHILDREN AT REGULAR DISMISSAL TIMES AT ORIZABA & 17TH ST. (DUE TO STREET CLOSURES)
- Around 9 a.m., officers were conducting an investigation in the area of the 2800 block of E. 15th Street involving a male adult suspect wanted in connection to an assault with a deadly weapon case
- Officers established a perimeter near an apartment complex where the suspect was located
- During the investigation an officer involved shooting occurred
- The suspect was struck and has been transported to a local hospital in unknown condition
- An Police K-9 dog was also struck by gunfire and transported in unknown condition
- No officers were injured
- Investigation is ongoing
- Temple Avenue, from 14th to 16th Streets, and Orizaba Avenue, from 14th to 16th Streets, and any streets within that perimeter are closed to through traffic and will remain closed for the next several hours – please stay out of the area and use alternate routes
