The Southern Pines Police Department announces the arrest of Travier Lequan Barrett, 24 years of age, of Southern Pines, North Carolina for Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon and three (3) counts of First Degree Kidnaping. This arrest stems from a robbery that occurred on December 16, 2014, at Dickey’s Barbeque Pit, located at 10564 U.S. 15-501 in Southern Pines, North Carolina. During this robbery, three employees were bound and tied inside the restaurant. The Town of Southern Pines has made a substantial investment in training our staff to perform with a certain level of expertise to solve these difficult cases. With recent improvements in DNA analysis, the Southern Pines Police Department has made great advancements in its ability to identify unknown offenders, even years after the crime occurred. This arrest not only represents justice being served, but brings closure for the victims of this incident as well.”

Travier Lequan Barrett appeared before a Moore County Magistrate and is currently being held in the Moore County Jail under $125,000.00 secured bond pending hearing on July 12, 2016 in Moore County District Court.
