Notable Arrest in South Pasadena
SOUTH PASADENA, CA – On Wednesday, June 29, 2016 at 7:40 am, officers with the South Pasadena Police Department responded to the South Pasadena High School for a sexual battery investigation. Shortly afterward, at 9:17 am, officers responded to an additional call of a male suspect exposing himself near the intersection of Fair Oaks Avenue and Rollin Street, near the South Pasadena Middle School. During the investigation, SPPD Dispatch received another call of a residential burglary in progress in the 1200 Block of Lyndon Street with the suspect matching the description from the sexual assault. The suspect then continued to break into several other residences in the area of the 1500 Block of Fair Oaks Avenue and the 1500 Block of Rollin Street.
A lock down was placed at both South Pasadena High School and the middle school to ensure the safety of the students. At approximately 10:34 am, the surrounding area was deemed safe and the lock down was lifted.
At about 2:14 pm, evidence led detectives to the area of Soto Avenue and Olympic Boulevard in Los Angeles where the suspect was located and found to driving a stolen vehicle. A traffic stop was initiated and the suspect was taken into custody. He has been identified as Michael David Brownlee, a 22 year old male out of Los Angeles. He was ultimately booked for robbery, residential burglary, motor vehicle theft, indecent exposure and annoy/molesting a minor.
