The Nash County Sheriff’s Office received numerous complaints from citizens pertaining to loitering and illegal activities occurring at the Sheetz gas station located at 157 N. Old Carriage Road, Rocky Mount.
On Wednesday, June 29, 2016, The Tar River Regional Drug Task Force conducted surveillance and investigative intervention at the Sheetz. The initiative and proactive efforts resulted in the arrest of 8 subjects for a total of 20 charges to include felony charges. Six vehicles were towed during this investigative intervention. The Narcotics seized during this operation consisted of Heroin, Marijuana, Suboxone strips and Tramadol pills along with assorted types of drug paraphernalia.

Those arrested were:
Timothy Ray Taylor Jr.
Charges: Simple possession of Schedule III controlled substance

Cody Griffin
Charges: PWISD Marijuana, Maintaining a vehicle for a CS and Possession of drug paraphernalia

Sierra Finch
Charges: Simple possession of marijuana and Possession of drug paraphernalia

Andrea Minchew
Charges: Felony possession of heroin, Possession of drug paraphernalia and littering

Jason Coppedge
Charges: Possession of marijuana, Possession of drug paraphernalia, Carrying concealed weapon, NOL, Tinted brake lights and Stop sign violation

Dakota Smith
Charges: Misdemeanor possession of marijuana and Possession of drug paraphernalia

Thomas Battle Jr.
Charges: Misdemeanor possession of marijuana

Matthew Dickerson
Charges: Simple possession of Schedule IV CS and Possession of drug paraphernalia

The Nash County Sheriff’s Office will take all complaints that affect citizen’s quality of life and follow-up with them accordingly.
