HMPD Officers arrest two men for burglary.

On Thursday, June 28, 2016 at approximately 6:30am, Hope Mills Police Officers responded to a wooded area in the 3700 block of South Main Street in reference to items left in the woods that appeared to be stolen. Further investigation by the Officers led to their discovery that a house in the 5600 block of Railroad Street had been broken into and, the items in the woods were from that residence. Officers also developed information that the suspects responsible for the break-in were Justin Matthew Baldwin, 21 of the 3900 block of Ellison Street in Hope Mills and, Michel Roberto Doren, 24 of the 3100 block of Big Pine Drive, also in Hope Mills.

Shortly after discovering the break-in, Officers located Mr. Baldwin at his residence and took him into custody without incident. Later that morning, Officers went to Mr. Doren’s address on Big Pine Drive to attempt to take him into custody. When Officers went to the front door, Mr. Doren jumped off of a balcony at the rear of the residence and attempted to run away. Officers chased Mr. Doren on foot across North Main Street and took him into custody in the area of Dove Drive and North Main Street. Hope Mills Police Detectives executed a search warrant at Mr. Doren’s residence following his arrest and located more stolen property from other break-ins. Both subjects were transported to the Cumberland County Detention Center where they were jailed on the following charges.

Justin Matthew Baldwin $4000.00 bond
