During the holiday weekend, portions of East Pioneer Drive will remain closed. Businesses can be accessed from Meals and the Richardson Highway. All business driveways will be available, but a portion of Pioneer in front of Sacred Grounds will be blocked off due to above-grade utilities. Do not use the Tesoro gas station as a thoroughfare.
On Tuesday July 5th and part of July 6th, Pioneer Drive will be closed on the west side. Business access will be available from the Richardson Highway. By Thursday July 7th, Pioneer will be open temporarily as a through street.
Please slow down when driving in the area.
Safeway continues work to repave their parking lot and sidewalks around the grocery store. Please follow posted signs once the repaving project begins.
The State of Alaska will be striping Egan Drive in the downtown area from July 5th – July 8th. Expect delays and detours. They will mill and pave the inbound lane of the Richardson highway beginning July 5th through Sunday July 10th. Expect up to 20 minute delays. Either a pilot car or flaggers will be in effect.
