On Friday, July 1st, at about 2:50pm, the Sebastopol Police Department received a telephone call reporting that a bicyclist, later identified as Mark Arnold Stevenson, a 57 year old Sebastopol resident, was threatening the occupants of vehicles as they entered the Sebastopol Safeway parking lot from Healdsburg Avenue with a large, heavy chain. Stevenson was swinging the chain toward the vehicles in a threatening manner.

Officers arrived on scene and detained Stevenson. One of the victims placed Stevenson under citizen's arrest for Brandishing a Weapon in a Rude and Threatening Manner {Penal Code Section 417(a)(1)}. He was transported to the Sonoma County Jail, where he was booked.
