Felon arrested for possession of OC (pepper) spray and possession of marijuana after a traffic stop.
On Saturday, July 2nd, about 5:50pm, Sebastopol Police Sergeant Nick Belliveau stopped a Nissan Altima on Gravenstein Highway North near Soll Court for expired registration. Upon talking with the vehicle's three occupants, Sgt. Belliveau could smell the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle.
A consent search of the front seat passenger, Darrick Russell Lamm, a 30 year old Santa Rosa resident, found that he was in possession of oleoresin capsicum (OC) spray. Since Lamm is a convicted felon, with three prior felony convictions, it is illegal for him to possess OC spray.
A search of the vehicle found one pound of marijuana that was determined to belong to Lamm. A BB gun designed to look like a real revolver was found with the marijuana.
It was determined that Lamm was out on bail for pending weapons charges. Lamm had been arrested by the Santa Rosa Police Department on June 22nd for being a felon in possession of a firearm and possessing a loaded firearm in public. Lamm posted bail and was released from the Sonoma County Jail the same day. On June 24th, the Sonoma County District Attorney's Office filed two felony charges against Lamm. It is a separate crime to commit a crime while out on bail.
Lamm was booked into the Sonoma County Jail for being a felon in possession of OC spray, possession of marijuana for sale, and committing a felony while out on bail for a felony. He is being held on $25,000.00 bail.
